01About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Yinks Analytics Inc., doing business as Data & AI Foundry ("we," "us" or "our"), collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you visit dataaifoundry.com (the "Website"), sign up for a resource, course or our newsletter, contact us, or buy a product.

We aim to comply with Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and applicable US state privacy laws.

Questions about how we handle your information? Contact us at contact@dataaifoundry.com.

02Information we collect

Information you give us

When you sign up for a complimentary resource, course or our newsletter, contact us, or buy a product, you may give us:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your company name (optional)
  • Which describes you best (for example, founder or business leader, or data and AI leader), so we can send relevant content
  • The contents of messages you send us
  • Payment details, which are handled by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card details.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Website, we and our service providers collect technical information such as your IP address and approximate location, browser and device type, pages visited, time on page, the page that referred you, and clicks and scrolling. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (section 5).

Information from other platforms

If you interact with us on LinkedIn or other social platforms, we may receive information in line with your privacy settings on those platforms.

03How we use your information

  • To deliver what you asked for: sending downloads and course access, and processing and delivering purchases
  • To email you: sending the resource or course you requested, related follow-up emails and our newsletter, with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To respond to you: answering questions and messages sent through our contact form or by email
  • To improve the Website: understanding which pages and resources are most useful
  • To meet legal obligations: keeping records, responding to lawful requests and protecting our rights

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

04Why we're allowed to use it

We collect and use personal information with your consent (for example, when you subscribe), to fulfil a purchase you made, and for reasonable business purposes such as improving the Website. You can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits.

05Cookies and tracking

Essential cookies

Needed for the Website to work, such as session and security cookies.

Analytics cookies

Help us understand how visitors use the Website. We use tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Clarity can record anonymized session replays and heatmaps of how visitors interact with pages.

Email and form cookies

Set by Kit, our email platform, when you use a signup form.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Website may not work properly. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. Where required, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

06Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Website and deliver our products, and only for those purposes:

  • Squarespace: website hosting, forms and commerce
  • Kit: email signups, delivery and newsletters
  • Payment providers: processing payments and delivering digital products
  • Google: website analytics
  • Microsoft: behavioural analytics (Clarity)

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our business (we would tell you if this happens). We may share it for other purposes with your consent.

07How long we keep it

  • Email subscribers: while you stay subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record so we don't email you again.
  • Purchase records: seven years, to meet Canadian tax and accounting rules
  • Contact messages: up to two years, unless you ask us to delete them sooner
  • Analytics data: according to each tool's retention settings (for example, 14 months for Google Analytics and 30 days for Clarity recordings)

When we no longer need personal information, we delete or anonymize it.

08Your rights

In Canada

You can ask what personal information we hold about you and how we use it, get a copy, correct it, withdraw consent and ask us to delete it where we don't need to keep it by law. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or, in Alberta, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (oipc.ab.ca).

In the United States

Depending on where you live, including California, Virginia, Colorado and Connecticut, you may have the right to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, to opt out of its sale (we don't sell it) and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We honour these requests wherever you live.

How to make a request

Email contact@dataaifoundry.com. We'll respond within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first. There's no charge for reasonable requests.

09Emails and unsubscribing

When you sign up for a resource, course or our newsletter, or buy a product, we may send you the item you requested, related follow-up emails, our newsletter and occasional emails about our products. We only send marketing emails with your consent, in line with CASL.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link, which removes you straight away. You can also email contact@dataaifoundry.com. Emails about a purchase you made (such as access details) are not affected by unsubscribing from marketing.

10Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections (SSL/TLS), secure third-party payment processing and limiting who can access personal information. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

If you notice a security issue, please tell us at contact@dataaifoundry.com.

11Storing information outside Canada

We are based in Alberta, Canada. Our service providers may store or process your information outside Canada, including in the United States, where different laws apply. We use providers that maintain appropriate data protection standards.

12Children

The Website and our products are for business professionals and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact contact@dataaifoundry.com and we will delete it.

13Other websites

This policy covers only our Website. Links to other websites are governed by their own privacy policies.

14Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
